Conversation Among Friends

This group blog was created for discussion among a small group of friends...all scientists, all employees of a major chemical company now or in the recent past...but with a variety of different perspectives in terms of religion, politics, whatever.

It is intended to be a bit different than most discussion on the web. You usually find sites to be either one-sided and one-dimensional or full of bickering and personal attacks. Because we're friends and have a common respect for each other despite our differences, we hope that through our discussion we can learn from each other and capture here multiple dimensions of the topics that interest us...while avoiding the pettiness and silly quarrels. In order to maintain this spirit (for now at least and although anyone can read our discussions), we intend to limit this blog (in terms of both posts and comments) to our small group.
