Francis Collins
Peter pointed me to the recent commentary by Collins on CNN.com titled:
"Collins: Why this scientist believes in God" (link)
There was also a profile of Collins that I read in the LA Times last year (link).
Collins is director of the Human Genome Project and wrote the book "The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief." Collins provides an interesting contrast to another scientist with a popular book addressing the apparent conflict between faith and science: Richard Dawkins and his book "The God Delusion." That's why I was particularly interested to see the dialogue between Collins and Dawkins in Time last fall (link). Another interesting online dialogue (though not explicitly dealing with science) has been going on between Sam Harris and Andrew Sullivan (link).

Seems like Collins took a look at C.S. Lewis and G.K. Chesterson for a deductive analysis of Christ. This is the proposition that Jesus of Nazareth is either a Liar, a Lunatic, or Lord. This argument by C.S. Lewis is very good but I did not find it to be absolutely "water tight" - however, I did find the reading (Mere Christanity) to be similar to a good steep hike and I was moving too quickly to be absolutely fair to Lewis - a good challenge and really a piece of argumentation that is scholarly.
Glad to discuss it with another reader. - Joey
