Peter pointed me to the recent commentary by Collins on CNN.com titled:
"Collins: Why this scientist believes in God" (link)

There was also a profile of Collins that I read in the LA Times last year (link).

Thermodynamics of Incorruptability

Folks,

Bob Haley and I once worked on a calculation of the entropic penalty associated with numerous "Incorruptables" found in Christendom.  I would like to try to finish the analysis and provide some evidence for incorruptability - one way or another.

I'll dig up some links too that refer to this phenomenon - which, by the way, is the occurrence of a body (typically a saint) that has been exhumed beyond the normal 12+ years required for total decay and found to be fresh, flexable, and fragrant.

All,

I am wondering about your opinions regarding the use of statistics in faith-based arguments?

Theory vs. Fact

Darwinism as theory:

It seems that we need to be clear about the difference between a scientific theory and a fact.

 Am I right?

It is not JUST a theory

A friend and collaborator of mine sent me an email the other day:
I just had an argument at the coffee machine with , who tried to convince me, that the world was actually created in seven OR six CONSECUTIVE days of 24 hours. And that the Bible consists of FACTS, NOT metaphors. And that HUMANS WERE CREATED, while plants and animals could have evolved.

Why This Blog

Tagged:

Several events motivated me to create this group blog. First, several months ago Joey and I discussed the possibility of doing something like this, but I never got around to setitng it up. Then, last week Kip mentioned that he'd been having some interesting discussions with a muslim colleague and that he thought it would be a good idea to have some sort of inter-faith lunchtime discussion. Finally, Mark posted to his blog a rant of sorts about evolution and creationism.
